Background
He joined FUJI in April 1996. In June 2021 he became Executive Officer and General Manager of the Technology Development Department in the Robot Solutions Business Division, and in June 2022 he became Director and Executive Officer as head of that division. It took 25 years from joining to becoming an executive officer, and two more to become president. Technology development in the division responsible for the mainstay placement machines is at the core of his career.
Selection
In June 2023 he succeeded Nobuyuki Soga as Representative Director and President. He had joined the board only the previous June, so the change came one year after he became a Director. In the fiscal year ended March 2023, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥153.3 billion and operating income ¥27.1 billion, following two straight years of growth from ¥136.2 billion and ¥21.9 billion in FY ended March 2021. He was promoted from heading the placement machine business.
Initiatives
In his first year, the fiscal year ended March 2024, consolidated net sales were ¥127.1 billion and operating income ¥13.4 billion, down from ¥153.3 billion and ¥27.1 billion the year before. Operating income also fell below the ¥21.9 billion of FY ended March 2021. In FY ended March 2025, sales were ¥127.4 billion and operating income ¥13.8 billion, roughly flat. In his first two years, earnings have not reached the level built up under his predecessor.
