Background
He joined Onoda Cement in April 1983. He became an Executive Officer in April 2017, his 34th year, Managing Executive Officer in April 2019, Director and Managing Executive Officer that June, and Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer in June 2023. He became Representative Director and President in April 2024. His predecessor Masafumi Fushihara was also a career employee who joined Onoda Cement in 1978, making it two successive presidents from the former Onoda side.

As of FY ended March 2026, the major shareholders were led by The Master Trust Bank of Japan at 16.4%, followed by trust banks and overseas institutional investors, with Aso the highest-ranked operating company, eighth at 2.35%.
