He joined Toyota Motor in April 1984, became a Managing Officer in April 2013 and a Senior Managing Officer and Operating Officer in January 2019. He moved to Toyota Boshoku in January 2022 and, after five months as an Executive Officer, became Director and President in June that year. Not a career employee, he was an executive who had spent 38 years on the side of the largest shareholder.

In the FY ended March 2025 sales were flat at ¥1,954.2 billion, while operating income fell to ¥42.4 billion and net income to ¥16.7 billion. In the FY ended March 2026 the company recovered to sales of ¥2,037.1 billion, operating income of ¥53.9 billion and net income of ¥23.3 billion.
