          "text": "1886年に岡山で生まれ、1907年に早稲田大学の英文科を出て、翌1908年1月に朝日新聞社へ入った。同社では1936年5月に常務取締役、1943年5月に編集総長を務め、1945年4月に顧問となる。在社中は社の航空部を通じ、グライダーによる学生航空連盟の設立を計画するなど戦前の航空振興に関わった。終戦とともに朝日新聞社を辞し、郷里の岡山で開拓事業に専念していた。事業会社の経営歴を持たない新聞人である。"

          "text": "戦後は旧航空関係者を救済する興民社の発起人に加わり、1951年春にヘリコプターによる郵便逓送会社の構想を示した。1952年12月23日の創立総会で発起人代表を務め、同月27日に資本金1億5,000万円で設立された日本ヘリコプター輸送の社長に就任する。副社長には日本銀行から池貝鉄工・丸善石油の社長を経た岡崎嘉平太氏が就任した。1955年3月期の大株主は名古屋鉄道31,200株、日本航空21,550株で、出身母体の朝日新聞は発行30万株のうち14,520株の4位にとどまる。",

          "text": "在任の9年で事業をヘリコプターから固定翼へ移した。1955年11月にダグラスDC-3型機を導入して旅客輸送へ移り、1957年12月に社名を全日本空輸へ改めた。1954年12月の航空審議会答申が全国2社主義を1社主義に改め、政府が合併を促すと、1958年3月に極東航空を合併して資本金6億円とし、東西に分かれた定期航空を一本化した。1961年6月に東京・大阪証券取引所の市場第二部へ上場した。売上高は1958年3月期の7億円から1961年3月期の24億円へ伸びた。"
