          "text": "1960年6月、二代小菅丹治氏の会長就任を受けて社長に就任した。前任は1908年4月に伊勢丹呉服店へ入店し、1930年9月の株式組織への改組と同じ年に社長となって30年を務めていた。同じ役員欄に並ぶ加藤冨久平氏は1933年9月の入社から取締役まで14年、山本宗二氏は1932年5月の入社から15年を要している。常務のまま12年で社長へ届いた速さは、家の継承によるものと考えられる。就任の2か月前、新宿店の西側には業界で最初のパーキングビルが設けられていた。"

          "text": "就任の翌1961年10月、東京証券取引所市場第一部へ株式を上場した。三越の上場より12年遅い。1966年に隣接する丸物を傘下へ収め、その跡地に日本で初めての紳士専門百貨店を建てて1968年9月に新宿店新館として開いた。のちのメンズ館である。1972年1月にはシンガポール伊勢丹を海外第一号店として開いた。国内の出店は吉祥寺・松戸・浦和と首都圏に絞られ、1976年11月期の支店売上高は全体の25%にとどまった。"
