          "text": "1896年3月、讃岐・詫間（現在の香川県三豊郡詫間町）の農家に生まれた。1909年に香川県立三豊中学校へ進み、慶應義塾に学んで1919年に卒業した。卒業後まもなく三越に入り、1923年の関東大震災では全従業員が非常罷役となるなか、入社間もない一社員として自宅待機を命じられている。京城支店次長、大阪支店次長を経て1940年正月に仙台支店長へ赴任し、のちに京城支店長として再赴任して敗戦で店舗を米軍に接収された。売場ではなく支店経営を積み上げた経歴である。"

          "text": "1945年末に京城から引き揚げて本社に戻り、京城支店従業員の処遇を理由に進退うかがいを出したが、社長の岩瀬英一郎氏はこれを退け、全員の本社引き取りを確約したうえで松田氏に本店次長を命じた。戦後の三越争議では代表取締役として労務と人事の実質的な責任者にあたり、争議は1960年の和解で決着している。1947年に取締役、1963年に社長へ就任した。店舗の復旧と労使の後始末を担った実務の系譜からの登用だった。",
