            "text": "1911年4月3日、北九州市若松に生まれた。旧制第一高等学校を経て、1936年3月に東京帝国大学文学部西洋哲学科を卒業した。卒業後の4年間は教職に就いたが、慢性の胃腸疾患で辞し、キリスト教神学の翻訳と著述、学生塾の収入で生計を立てた。原書によるバルト神学研究会を主宰し、事業を興すまでの37年間に形而上学の著書10冊を出している。商いの経験を持たないまま37歳で医薬品卸へ転じた。"

            "text": "1948年9月、世田谷区北沢の自宅を社屋に、資本金30万円・従業員7人で東邦薬品を設立し、代表取締役に就任した。医薬品卸を選んだのは、疎開中の留守宅を預かり戦後も同居していた2人が卸の経験者だったことによる。創業メンバー7人のうち直販の経験者はこの2人を含む3人で、残りは大学を出たばかりの教え子だった。動機は「食うため」で、仕入れ先も顧客も持たない同業1000社の最後発からの出発だった。"

            "text": "セールスマン一人ひとりを独立採算の経営責任者に置く班長制度を敷いた。部課長制度も常務会も設けず、社員持株制度と男女同一労働・均一賃金を取り入れ、後継者は世襲や禅譲によらず役員会で議論して決めることにした。現場の単位は班で、班長が売値を自分で決め、部下の給料や経費から売掛債権の焦げ付きまでを班の責任として負った。持株制度を入れた結果、自身の持ち分は1割に下がり、株式は1980年11月に店頭登録には至ったが、在任中に二部へ上場することはできなかった。1988年3月期には売上高1232億円、従業員数1798人の規模になった。"
