            "text": "1946年9月、天田勇氏は東京都豊島区高田南町で天田製作所を個人創業した。郵便局からおろした事業資金は3,000円、旋盤1台と本人だけの陣容で、機械修理を請け負う町工場だった。1948年に合資会社、1953年10月に資本金100万円の株式会社天田製作所へ改組している。進駐軍が金属の切断に帯鋸を使うと知って国産化に向かい、研究用の輸入機を買えないため海外のカタログと特許資料だけで設計した。1955年1月、竪型帯鋸盤「コンターマシン」の第1号機が完成した。"

            "text": "初代社長で、前任はいない。1961年2月、天田勇氏は神奈川県伊勢原町の工場誘致に応じて約3万3,000平方メートルを取得し、所要資金約3億5,000万円の新工場に着手した。当時の資本金は800万円で、3月の倍額増資で1,600万円、5月に5,000万円へ積み増したうえで、6月15日に東京店頭市場へ株式を公開する。同月に額面変更のため寿々川礦業と合併し、同年10月に東証2部へ上場した。創業から15年での公開である。"

            "text": "1960年4月に分離した営業部門エーエム商事を1964年2月に本体へ吸収合併し、1965年1月から代理店を通さない直接販売網の構築に本格着手した。代理店へ払う15〜20%のマージンより、顧客を呼ぶ交通費と宿泊費のほうが安いという計算だった。受注が生産能力を超えると新工場ではなく既存メーカーの買収を選び、1973年11月の園池製作所を皮切りに不振の同業を系列へ収め、機種ごとに生産を割り振った。売上高は1967年3月期の41億円から1982年3月期に1,005億円へ伸びた。",
