          "text": "1963年3月、現地資本との合弁でタイ東レ・テクスタイル・ミルズを設立し、翌1964年4月に操業を開始した。同じ年に東レナイロンタイも設けており、初の海外合弁会社はこの2社である。1963年時点の東レはフル操業で、設備を増設しなければ売上が伸びない状態にあった。1962年9月には基礎研究所を新設している。単体売上高は1960年3月期の812億円から1966年3月期の1792億円へ2.2倍になった一方、当期純利益は1963年3月期の123億円から37億9000万円へ減少した。1966年11月に広田精一郎氏へ社長を譲った。"
