          "text": "四方卯三郎氏は、京都・伏見で味淋と焼酎を造っていた四方家の五代目四方卯之助氏の長女マス氏と結婚した婿養子である。1905年10月1日に四方家の個人経営が四方合名会社へ改組されたとき、代表社員は四方卯之助氏の三男四方秀三郎氏だったが、会社は四方卯三郎氏を中心に組織された。1年余りのち四方合名会社の社長に就任し、以後20年間、秀三郎氏を唯一の協力者として経営にあたった。1916年には宇和島の日本酒類醸造で技師兼工場長を務めていた大宮庫吉氏を自ら訪ねて招いた。"

          "text": "1925年8月10日の創立発起人会に7名の1人として加わり、9月6日の創立総会で寳酒造の取締役社長に選ばれた。四方合名会社は1920年の恐慌で傷み、1922年には帝国酒造への合併を申し入れるところまで追い込まれていたが、支配人の大宮庫吉氏が合併に反対し、社外資本を入れずに株式会社へ改組する案を通した。四方合名会社の吸収にともなう増資新株29,000株のうち、四方卯三郎氏への割当は8,700株で、同族と大宮氏を通じて最も多かった。"

          "text": "1925年10月に始めた初年度は造石12万石・利益44万円で終え、1926年11月に帝国酒造を合併して千葉の市川工場を得た。焼酎の生産と価格が業界統制で固められると、1937年10月に研究部を設けて焼酎に近い新事業へ転換する方針を示した。1938年には酒精生産の木崎工場を東亜酒精興業へ譲渡し、四方卯三郎氏が同社の社長を兼ねた。1940年10月28日、74歳で社長を退き、会長制を新設して四方秀三郎氏へ社長を渡した。"
