      "text": "2003年4月、諸藤周平氏が東京都町田市で株式会社エス・エム・エスを設立した。前年8月に立てた合資会社の株式会社化で、社名は「Senior Marketing System」の頭文字にあたる。キーエンスとゴールドクレストを経た25歳の起業で、翌5月にケアマネジャー向け人材紹介「ケア人材バンク」を開設した。2000年に始まった介護保険をあてこんで[介護拠点を全国1,208カ所へ一斉に並べた](/tse/4723/decisions/comsun-1208-centers-2000/)会社もあったが、エス・エム・エスが置いたのは事業所ではなく情報の網だった。確実に来る需要のそばで、そこを通る人を数える商売から始まっている。"

      "text": "優位に立てない領域を早く手放し、優位を築ける領域だけを深く掘る仕分けに特色がある。2009年12月、医師と薬剤師向けの人材紹介4サービスを共同新設分割で切り出し、出資49%のエムスリーキャリアへ移した。相手は[医師会員を一つの入口へ集約した](/tse/2413/decisions/portal-integration-2003/)会社で、求人情報の入口を握られた領域だった。代わりに看護師向けポータルの共同運営を解いて情報を自社へ引き取り、2014年2月には介護請求ソフトを経営支援基盤「カイポケ」へ作り替え、月3,000円の商品を2万円へ引き上げた。捨てる側と積む側を分けたことが、介護と看護への集中を生んだ。"

      "text": "介護と看護のキャリア紹介を中核に、介護・障害福祉事業者向けの経営支援を継ぎ足した国内 2 事業の構造である。2026年3月期の売上高は647億円と過去最高を更新し、キャリアが382億円、介護・障害福祉経営支援が134億円を占めた。一方、2015年に買収したアジアの医薬情報事業を抱える海外分野は88億円へ減り、営業段階でも赤字となって229億円の減損損失を計上し、当期は143億円の純損失に転じた。自前で積んだ国内と、買収で広げた海外が、現在正反対の答えを出している。"

      "text": "正面から競うより、競わずに済む場所を選び続けてきた。職種を横断する規模で戦う大手に対し、資格職ごとにサイトを分けて小さな市場を数で集約し、医師と薬剤師では自ら合弁へ退いた。[1,000億円超でIndeedを買収したリクルート](/tse/6098/decisions/indeed-acquisition-2012/)や[514億円で転職メディアを買収したパーソル](/tse/2181/decisions/intelligence-acquisition-2013/)のように、求職者との接点を資本で取り込む道とは別の戦い方である。ただし海外では買収で会員基盤を一気に得ながら伸ばしきれず、2026年には物言う株主から撤退を求められた。避けて優位に立った国内と、買収して苦しむ海外の落差が、エス・エム・エスの輪郭を作っている。"
